Even though original name is ‘Sauce’ these are solid crayons, not a liquid matter. Drawing sauces provide perfect soft blending, have natural colours and smooth texture. Due to their unique texture fixative is not required when a picture is finished. How to use drawing sauces/crayons? Dry technique: use the chalks as if they are extra-extra soft charcoal or pastel. Blend, smudge, create bold and sharp lines – everything you like. due to their extra-soft nature, these crayons go between fibre of a paper used and that’s how colours look more intense and fixative is not necessary. We suggest place smooth tracing paper between the pages to prevent undesired smudging. Wet technique: draw, shade, blend or smudge – everything you want. Then you can use a paint brush and water to achieve painting effects. Of course, such technique requires proper watercolour or mixed media paper.
