2002-2013 Cadillac EXT Sub Box The 2002-2013 Cadillac EXT offers its own unique disadvantages and advantages to stereo systems that can give unlimited potential for output while also leaving the truck usable as a work vehicle. This box was designed to take place of the factory midgate and allows you to get the bass you want while still being able to use your truck as a truck. This box is the maximum workable height and width to get as much airspace as possible so that the box itself doesn’t have to be that deep. It can be built up to 16″ deep and still fit in the back doors for those big bass situations. This box can accommodate a wide combination of 8s, 10s, 12s and 15s in some ported configurations. It is made so that the factory latches at the top can be installed and locked into place and the bottom is made to screw into the midgate hinge brackets. This enclosure comes standard carpeted, but my preference and recommendation is to let me spray it with my black NET Liner to protect it from the elements and allow you to use your bed worry free. We can also carpet the front of the box and spray the rear. Let me know if this is what you want to do and we can discuss the options. This box will lose the factory rear window storage. To install this box, the flap at the bottom of the midgate needs to be removed and the midgate needs to be unbolted from the hinges. THESE BOXES ARE ALL CUSTOM MADE TO ORDER FOR YOUR APPLICATION. This is our medium sized box for the Avalanche the mounting depth is 5.74 inches. Depending on what subwoofers you plan on using you might be able to fit a standard size subwoofer and not just a shallow mount. If mounting depth is an issue, we can always make it a bit deeper with our metal backing plates. The backing plates will allow us to gain an extra 0.75 inches of depth for a total of 6.49 inches of clearance. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give us a call. It has 2.4cuft of total airspace, which is enough for a couple 12s or maybe 2 or 3 of 10s. Plenty of space to get creative and keep your cargo space. This is a sealed subwoofer box. A sealed subwoofer box has a tight and punchy bass that is more articulate and truer to the music with a more natural sound. For customers who want louder deeper bass with the lower bass more pronounced, a ported box is what you want. Because of the ported design, the bass will not be as tight and punchy, but there is double the bass of a sealed box with the same subs. If big bass is what you want then our ported box will be what you want. This box is made of 3/4″ MDF and is fully carpeted in matching carpet. The nickel-plated spring-loaded speaker terminals are mounted on the back of the box and the speaker wires are soldered on for a solid and reliable connection.
